An Ode to seasoned wood

    So I know I'm in Alabama but it's subfreezing now for 36+hrs and will continue in a 2x4 exterior house construction through tomorrow morning.
    I heated exclusively with wood for 6+years then filled the propane tank early December.

    Had the stove cranking last night with a low of 18F but woke up when the furnace kicked on to 70F with inside 68F so I got up loaded once and again ~1300 and we're cooking 74 in the back hallway.

    I've played with some 2yr oak today just for chits&grins and it sucked, loaded some pine to help it through the burn and in the mean time furnace kicked on.
    Back to 3yr red Oak for tonight:fire:

    Just looked at the weather for your area, Basod! Looks as though they got the forecast right. Hope you kept the stove cranking and stayed nice and warm!! That 3 yo oak should do the trick for ya.

    That's crazy temperatures for your part of the world, hope ya'll stay warm.....I'm at 5300' and it's 51°F and pouring rain with flood warnings.:hair:
