So much for having an email notification with them for it.

I found most places email notification don't work!!

I had a small box of .308 bullets on order from midway a few years ago. literally after a year I called them and asked if they had them in Stock yet. they did, apparently never notified me or sent them!!

Pick me! Just started out last weekend after kicking the idea around and now I'm hooked! So far just been 30/06 for my Garand and will be on to 30 carbine shortly.

There's a lot of variety out there for 30.06.

Got that right! I was going for an M2 ball duplicate so as not to beat up the old Garand and lots of reading online and in books I've got. Settled on Varget powder because it seemed to be a very clean burn as apposed to the imr4895 which I understand is the norm for the M2 dups

I stopped messing with my .30/06 loads when the 4 test rounds I made I shot about a 3/4" group, with 3/4 shots through the same hole!

I have read that garands need a lighter load than a standard 06. I'm sure you know more than I do about that, but if not, don't shoot your loads and start reading! I don't load 30 06 at all, and don't know garands, but I know I've seen something about people bending op rods or something like that.

That's exactly it! the normal store bought loads are to "hot" for the Garands gas system and op rod bending is supposedly the outcome of using them. The original set up was to be near 2740 fps measured 50' out or something so that is the mark to shoot for but on the other hand not under load because of not cycling the rifle or ramming another round behind a bullet in the barrel

I've cranked out 500 rounds of .38 sp since I bought my Lee Classic in Nov. And turned 200 of those back into empty brass getting used to my new-to-me lever action before deer season hit.

Getting ready to pick up a 9mm die set soon. I know some folks say there isn't much savings in reloading 9mm, but I probably have 2000 empty brass shells stored in paint cans and I can't let it go to waste!

Garand reloading- 06- Powder burn rate is more of a problem than supposedly hot loads from MFG. Want to stay at or very near 4895 burn rate due to the gas system . Slow burning powder such as 4831 is a no no in the Garand system same on the other end with too fast a powder. Problem with commercial loads - no idea whats inside. As with any gas operated unit gas port dia. and gas volume affects timing of system. Many excellent articles on loading for the Garand .

There's a certain satisfaction in fine tuning a load even if you aren't saving much $$$. Especially if you cast your own bullets.

And there's the mild to wild spectrum that I live in, sometimes you want a plinker load, and sometimes you want a dragon slayer!:D

There is enough savings to pay for the dies after 500 or so rounds and the rest is money in your pocket

Big savings in reloading are on the uncommon calibers, big rifle and things like .45LC or 44mag.
