Putting some wood on the porch a couple days ago made me realize we are finally starting into our second cord. That is not much wood for this time of year but we've been very mild except for that one week or so in December. Also I was out cutting and skidding some logs today and only had to go through snow for a short distance. Temperature around 40 degrees which is very warm for this time of year. Back to reality in a couple days I guess. Still, we're probably in line to burn about what we did last year which was a lot less than normal.
It's been warm here in my part of New England. I'd say I've burned just over a cord. Maybe, 1.3 cords. That's burning 24x7. Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk
I haven't paid much attention but if I had to guess I'd say 1.5 cord. The good thing about being 3+ Years ahead is that I just keep going. Fill the wood shed when it needs it and just keep cutting wood! I did make a point of emptying the wood shed a few weeks ago. The wood in the back had to be over 5 years old!
It's been very mild here as well, so far I'm guestimating we used around 1.5 cord. Which is crazy for this time of the season, even less than this time last year. I've been burning oak, locust and hard maple exclusively.
just guessing, would have to measure to really see but 1 to 1.5 cords here. I let the stove go cold this morning, probably start a chill chaser for overnight. Wed. we'll getting cruising again as the winter comes back with a bite.
yup I am a little less than 2 cord but not great wood popular cherry birch soft maple... ya know the stuff that's dry enough...
I'm at a cord here in NJ. I would have used less but with a cat stove you can start burning earlier. Which I did because I like it warm and because I hate paying the gas company !
I would guess ive probably used about a cord and a half. The weather has been a roller coaster here in northern kentucky, still haven't got a good snow yet .
This is timely......I've been trying to figure this out and came up with about 1.5 cords so far. We started having small fires the middle of Sept., and went through about 1/3 cord of pine, then got into small/short splits of Ash, and now we've been burning the Red Maple. Probably start into the Oak middle of this week, with some pretty good cold coming. We use an average of about 2/3 cord/month for close to 8 months, with the middle of Dec. through the middle of March being the coldest.
Once we're done burning what's left of the Cherry in the racks, we'll have burned 1.86 cord or 6 face cord. I might have to add another .62 of a cord once I check a certain area. We has some really chitty Cherry I had stacked a few years ago that should've been flamed up last year. I'm not sure on the pellet count but I'm thinking 10 bags total.....I'll have that count tomorrow. I was looking at that Oak today that's been seasoning for 4 plus years, I'm waiting for the real cold weather before I bring that in.
