28 out 68 in Sunny blue skies. Gonna be a good day. I loaded a full load at 3pm yesterday and it made it till 7am this morning when the 'pane kicked on. Fell asleep early without a reload. Mishmosh load warming things back up. Got some 30"+ longs jammed katycorner in the top of the furnace burning off. Have been sorting out a bunch lately and will be burning them off the next few warmer days.
Happy 2017 guys and gals! We went to a new years eve party last night so the stove went cold even before midnight. Since I had a few wobbly pops I figured it best not to play with fire. The stove is still cold but now I have cold toes and the forced air furnace is cycling on and off which is annoying. Ill take this opportunity to scoop out some ashes, clean the glass and load er up and get the house back up to 24c/75f! Currently its -10c/14f out with a cold week ahead.
Just touched freezing point . Almost did splits on black ice , even had a snow flurry . Still burning two year old cherry . Keep putting a few knots/ uglys on love the different flames ya get
Cheers . I could burn a candle in it and I'd still love it. It's not something I needed but something I've always wanted . Not turned heating on since she were installed in June
35°F with 45 mph wind gusts, seems like the wind never stops around here. Looks like snow for the rest of the week....... Just started the stove with Pinyon pine and Tamarack.
Current temp 24°F with a low of 10°F tonight. Being gone all day, the house dropped to 63°, then i was working outside until a little bit ago. Loaded the oakleaf with ash and birch and lit the pellet stove for a quick warm-up. While raking the roof, noticed a pile of snow on the oil chimney, gotta love it!
Sunshine and 40 today , 29 now , low 23 , burnin ash in the Lopi. Been enjoying the 30s n 40s Things are going to change
20 or so here. Been on vacation all week so the Napoleon has been going nonstop since last Thursday. Gas only kicked in once when I may have had one too many and "forgot" to get up in the morning and load the stove, was still able to light from coals around noon that day. Just loaded up for the night. Real mixed bag tonight, ash, sugar and red maple and a split of white oak that's probably not ready yet but just wanted to see how it would burn.
Good morning, lower 50's today with rain, loaded the Hungry Monster with Cherry and Ash last nite, wont look at again til tonight and start working on burning coals down.
