Summer storms took down a pine or two on my sister's property. BIL cut & bucked it and sister brought some of it to me; rest will follow on another trip and I will bring some home in the boot of the Buick. Free wood of any kind is welcomed.

What vehicle is that? Has to be an bmw x5.

I'll probably have a bit of super local spruce in my stacks this year.

LeSabre; you would be surprised what I hauled in the Frakenbuick. I once hauled 14 bags of 40lb topsoil; some went inside in the foot wells in the rear; front wheels were a little light on the road.

I'm into some rounds of spruce with the OWB now and am a little surprised at its performance.

Spruce is a great firewood and like others have said free makes it even better. We all know it burns hot and fast but it has its place. I pick wood out of my stacks based on what I need it for. If Im home then spruce and lodgepole pine, doug fir are on the menu. If I need an overnight burn or Im away from the stove for more than 6 hours I will use larch of birch. Often I will use lower btu woods to fill in the gaps between scheduled burns. grandgourmand I like your witty thread title.

That big round was a killer. Had help though. But I think I put the hatch beyond it's recommended weight limit.

That's a mix of sassafras, maple, and black birch. Free from my sister-in-law, with about four more loads, like that. Glad she's in the same town!!

You can put a hitch on it.

I haul with an Audi Allroad. I haul a trailer with the Audi, and it does that well. I don't put any wood in the hatch unless I absolutely have to, and then only in the far back on the catch all mat. I see you have a tarp, which is a great thing.

At some point I'll get a truck though. Newer trucks get better gas mileage than my gas sucking 40v v8.
