    I was going to try and set up a DRT and climb with a VT hitch setup on the neighboring tree, but I didn't have all that gear with me. I refuse to spike-climb a tree that we're not felling, and this particular widowmaker was stable enough to use the method we used.....

    Had it been bigger or "hairier", I'd have done the other method.
