Just moving some wood that was near the trail in these pics, it's still a mess in this area but it's 102_0840.JPG a big improvement from what it was.

I wouldn't have know what the birds were before you told us. I don't think I have ever seen wild turkeys.

Nice job thewoodlands! The tractor is certainly paying for itself. I was pushing some brush with the grizzly and plow, it did pretty good.

Tomorrow I'll plan on getting some of this smaller stuff down that's between my marks, some of it is Maple so the deer will eat the ends. It will look a whole much better when I'm done.

Yes, it looks like we have some rain coming in on Tuesday or Wednesday so that will push back the snowmobile season again.

Picture 0892 is when I started and 0909 is when I finished today, I left some of the smaller Pine up until I burn some of what I hauled out today.

Nothing for snow today. When I was working in the woods I could hear the sleds going down the road, when I was running the dead pine to the outside fireplace we only had a couple of inches under the pines.

I took a ride around the lower part of our property (not really trail work) just clearing some smaller chit before it freezes in. You can see parts of the property has some snow and others nothing, the last picture looks like a yellow birch broken off so our plans are to get it tomorrow.

The winds are still strong enough that I didn't do any cutting, up top on our property the wind 102_0916.JPG sounded even worse.

I'm hoping this warm spell with the rain will uncover anything bigger at the end of this trail so I can continue clearing it to the hill in the back.

Pic 0865 is before I started and the after pic.

Once the winds calmed down today (12:30) I took a ride around some of our property, pic 0938 is a west facing hill, 0939 is the only chit across the trail (small basswood) 0941 is near the area I've been working on which I plan on putting in a new trail once I get part of the dead pine moved, 0943 is the area I want a new trail, a bunch of smaller dead pine and some bent over maples will be removed. 102_0943.JPG

I'm surprised you don't have more down. The winds were pretty strong. We suffered a good snow melt today and more tomorrow.

How long will this new trail be?

Just a guess but I'm thinking about 70-80 yards. We really haven't had any big snowfalls this year but we still have a few months left.

Until we get enough snow to ride, I'll concentrate on getting a trail cleared to the backhill which will get me to more damaged yellow birch.

I think we'll save the Oak for the chit cold weather in February.

Tomorrow I'll do some burning in the outside fireplace of some branches in the area I've been working.

It was a wet day but I did get the trail cleared so we have access to the small gully at the base of the hill.
