EPA wants Alaskans to stop burning wood?

    Based on reading the first page of comments following the article, this gets political WAY TOO FAST.

    I think John Ackerly had an article on this. I think they have both good and bad points. The area around Fairbanks can get really bad but not all of Alaska is that way. If more had epa stoves and fewer OWB that would help a lot. I think they also want to see more pellet stoves which are fine for some but not for all.

    That reads an awful lot like the typical fear-mongering piece that pops up every time the EPA considers tightening up the pollution/emissions on new sold stoves.
    Unfortunately tightening up the standards is usually a response to a local bad air quality period of time.

    Problems not going to go away in those areas where inversions trap polluted air.

    Got nothing against the author of a fear-mongering piece either.
    Sometimes that's what you've got to do to turn heads and get people to get involved with things sometimes.
