I wanted to do a poll for various pellet brands, But the problem is I can't change/add to the poll if I miss or omit something that someone would like to see. So I thought maybe we should just post what our favorites are? This way we can all voice what we like and I can add a tally or count as we submit our preferences. I'll add the brands as we go and keep a count of the votes for each. Should keep everyone happy and we can see which is the most popular for each.

Below I will keep the totals of brands and votes

    Hardwood:
    Country Boy(1) Cubex(2) GreenWay(1) Hamers(4) Somerset(3) Turmans(2) Geneva(1)

    Softwood:
    Bridgewell(1) Crabbe(1) Eagle Valley(1) EZ BlazeSYP(2) Georgia Biomass/Okie Golds/NW Purely Pine(3) La Crete(4-1/2) Vandy Plats(2-1/2) Vermont(3)

    Douglas Fir:
    Bear Mountain/Golden Fire/Okies DF(2) Blazers/BTUtiful(2) Olympus(2) Pinnacle/Northern Warm(1) Packsaddle(1)

    Blend:
    Energex(2) EZBlaze(5) Hamer(1) Inferno Gold(2) MWP(3)

    Hello Jay:
The hard wood pellet favorite is Greenway
    Softwood Pellets are Bridgewell Pellets
Douglas Fir Never available here, that I have ever burned.
Blends would have to be Hamer Hot Ones. They have burned so different for me, they have to be of different woods

As always thanks for the time
    Good Luck
    Tommy

    Hardwood - Don't burn any.

    Softwood - Lacrete

    DF - Blazer

    Blend - MWP

Not a lot of choices up here, at least at a reasonable price.

    IMO...the Blend should be a hard/soft mix.

Even though Hamer, Turman, etc. use different material it's still all hardwood.......same with softwood, even though it might contain SPF, it's still a softwood.......but this is just my opinion.

I obviously have a bias, but am lucky enough to burn quite a variety.

    Hardwood
Hamers - but Sets, country boy and turmans are in the same conversation.

    Softwood
    Eagle Valley

    Doug fir
Toss up between Olympus and Pinnacle ( Northern Warmth). Both phenomenal pellets. I'll go with Pinnacle.

    Blend
Ezb - it's the only decent blend I've come across.

    Recycled skids
... Oops wait, wrong poll. :picard:

    Softwood
    Vermont Wood Pellet

    Blend
    EZB

    DF
Have 4 different brands to test, will report back later.

I am only comparing pellets burned in the P61a as I stick with just a couple for the main floor stove

Hardwood: Cubex (I was torn between that and Hamers).
Softwood: Vermont's (sorry, DF wasn't nearly as good in my stove). However, I could only afford a couple of bags of either of those, so for value softwood I would vote for Okie golds ($260/ton)
Blend: Inferno's. I know, right? On par with the FSU's, but with less ash or smoke on the glass in the P61a. Disclaimer - I have not burned PTL's in the P61a - those are only burned in the P43.

Golds NLA so I put your original vote in for the VMP's.

I can change that if you find another you'd rather vote for?

Added to the Energex tally. ;)
