Yep, I get mine at the town dump (where they stockpile it). They have a pile outside the gates for the general populace.

Even better is coconut oil since it has some mild antiseptic properties. But if all you have is Vaseline, that will do.

Hopefully, but be ready for a long battle... When I cut off the tip of my pinky, it healed just fine... But the cleaning and changing of dressing was crucial.. Good Luck...

Alright. Some snow is coming Thursday into Friday. So I made a push this morning and moved the rest of the hay into the barn for the wife. We had that on pallets and under big tarps. Now there won't be any pulling that out from under snow in the spring.

And next year we will have a hay elevator so it will be going up into the loft as soon as it gets here. No more handling it again.

That took me from 8:00 -11:45. Then my neighbor and I went to work on the batten and trim boards on the other end of the high gable. Almost half way done. Hopefully tomorrow morning we can make some more progress before snow comes in. Maybe get 3/4 of a day in if it doesn't snow too hard.

I'm tired out. Two cold, vacation beers! :D And home made tomato basil soup and grilled cheese sandiches coming soon. I believe I will be sleeping like a baby tonight.

Pain Relieving Neosporin, better yet, there is a new Lidocaine for sale over the counter. I lost all the meat in the pads of my fingers to frostbite years ago, yikes was that painful, yes Chvymn99 is right. The doc can prescribe stronger lidocaine if needed too.

I have triple antibiotic ointment, and we do have coconut oil. Thanks!

No sticking with this evenings cleaning, so I'm thankful to that. Tell me that pouring some chit on your pinky didn't hurt like heck. Oy!
I'll look for that! Thx! How did you get frostbite? Lose any fingers?

Even bring a tear to the ol' eyes... Peroxide and Neosporin were my friends.. But the I think that first 24 hours were the worst, for everytime the heart beated the pinky would throb... and then while its healing tapping it on a piece of machinery....:bug:

Medical condition related to my diffuse systemic scleroderma called "Raynauds", the blood vessels constrict in fingers, toes, no warm blood flowing in your fingers/toes = freezing..... December 2008, Propane delivery truck for a neighbor got stuck infront of my driveway, I went to help, about 45*F, I had wool gloves on and they got wet while I was helping him get chains on his tires got wet in the slushy snow. I had no idea it was possible but it is. I did not lose any fingers, some odd scars on my finger pads (LOL right finger print does not work now  ), and the sides of nails on a couple fingers. They look and function normal unless some one looks close. Much better now but WOW!! Trying to keep water out of the bandaids while washing, and worse yet was trying to towel off after showers. Wrap your finger up good before you shower:salute:

No fingerprints, eh? Lucky you :D

I've been cutting the corner from a Ziploc bag and tapping it around my finger. Haven't had any baby shampoo in years.

Nice call on the ziploc! LOL, I had no idea how ill I was but knew I could not keep up the pace at my current job and applied to be a substitute teacher at the public schools. Nope, passed all the qualifications-except-the finger print- (required with the background check):picard:.

You be safe too. Better to have someone else do the lifting Dave. Even if it becomes a pain to get someone. Better than your back becoming a serious pain. Take care man.

Caffeine going down, boiler loaded, a myriad of things to do today. Move firewood into the basement. Go for a walk through the woods all around the property with my brother and his son(who is home from California), work on barn for about four hours with neighbor this afternoon. Then go to dinner with said brother and his wife and son and my family. Should be a busy day.

Pouring rain all night. Probably will rain off and on all day. I am getting used to being home all day with no schedule. If it doesn't get done today, there is always tomorrow. I have two weeks left before getting back on schedule. Went to bed before the Indiana/Utah game ended so I will have to look up the final score. Everyone have a safe day.
