I hope you stay away from that glass window. With those winds, it could implode. I can understand why there used to be working shutters on windows.
Middle 30s for 4 days High today 56 °F with light rain , snow is almost all gone , Wind Speed SW 16 G 24 mph Burned some boxelder with a little pine Low 28 °F tonight , probably burn some ash later
yeah I'm watching it... if it goes 2 pieces of plywood with 2 inch poly foam will hold it til better weather
I guess wind is going to pick up around here . Overnight winds will gust over 35 to 45 mph with sustained winds either side of 20 mph.
Got almost an inch of rain on Christmas and today it has been really windy. Steady winds around20-25mph with gusts around 40. Lots of small branches in the yard and a couple of larger branches broke off of dead or dyuing trees came straight down. No damage done yet.
wildwest I really don't know how the world you guys deal with the amount of wind you get out there!!![/QUOTE]Somehow in this sturdy old house its not so bad. I need to add though, I think this was one of the noisiest nights in the 4 winters we've been here. Not as high MPH gusts, must just be from a different direction than we are used to. Ya, all 5 of us were in our bed last night
They must have some bad poles in Syracuse NY, only 30 mph winds which caused the poles to go over. Power out in parts of CNY as gusting winds, wet grounds cause utility poles to fall
Good luck, hope all is well! Got me thinking I should have more plywood at the ready for times like these.....
We went from 36º this morning all the way up to 61º, still hanging at 60 outside so I haven't put anything in the stove since last night. They say 37º by morning but looking at the hourly forecast it is not supposed to start moving down until about 3a.m. and I have to head out early so the NG boiler may have to run a smidge tomorrow.
That would not be easy handling plywood in winds like that . Might find you down the street somewhere
Wind is still blowing. It is just cold and miserable to be outside in this crap. Hope I have an inside job tomorrow. Feels like -6. only worse.

If it wasn't for the fact that it is a double pain door then it might have broke but thank goodness it stayed together.
It sounds like the rain stopped and the temp is at 45, I loaded up the liberty with six cherry splits for an overnight fire.
