A friend of mine sent these photos. Apparently both were road kills this fall near his place.

Always a shame to see the big boys go down to a car. That first pic....omg! Id fall outta my tree if i saw that one on the hoof!

I see one got tagged. Is that a roadkill permit or a regular deer tag dennis?

So he burnt his buck tag on a roadkill just for the rack? Probably gonna brag how he shot it too. What a :zip:

People are funny around here for antlers too, and I don't understand it. If you see a roadkill buck in the ditch, chances are within an hour you drive by again and the head is gone. It's only a trophy if you bagged it while hunting.

Personally if I ever scooped a nice rack from a roadkill deer (and thought it worthy to mount), I think I'd burn an RK into the mounting plate, and hang a dinky hotwheels car from one of the beams.

Anything else is just pretending you slept with a super model or the equivalent.

The one on the left is an Ohio road kill from 2015, that deer pic has made its rounds on social media a lot the last two years. Every time I see it the picture says it was killed in a different area. Big deer like that always have a way of people creating stories behind them.

The internet and social media are bad at making things wrong. Its hard to figure out what the real story is sometimes.

Actually I got that from a friend who lives a long way from us. When I asked, he told me he got it from a friend who told him the deer were got near Flint, MI. Wrong!

That other friend likely saw it on facebook, crazy how stories get changed. This deer was killed on the road last summer less then a half mile from my house. We have a friend that got a pic of him live earlier that was almost in my back yard. Once it was killed it made its way to Facebook and started to get shared around. I saw posts from many different places and each one the story changed a little. Eventually the post was being shared by lots of bigger facebook groups and many said it was hit on the road all over the country. In a very short amount of time this deer was said to have been in numerous different states. Crazy how things change when the story goes from one person to the next and then the next.

I was in the States about ten years ago, road trip to Louisiana with my cousin I saw sooooo many road kill deer on the side of the road. They were all over but here in Ontario you might see one in a blue moon. I always wondered why.
