Well this is officially official after a good period of burning with this years stove chow and much careful watching and other stuff there is just no way around it! The last 5 days have been hands down the least amount of ash I have ever had I usually clean the stove once a week with a good pellet. I am convinced that these have been the least I have ever had! When I pulled the burn pot it was just about 1/8 full and the inside was pretty much clean. I am really baffled honestly! I burned them before and they where good but not stellar by any means.... They dont look any different They still seem to throw about the same amount of heat as before. I guess I should stop analyzing this and and just accept that this was a good batch....
Yes... Don't Jinks yourself..... Middle of the road, Mountain of ash shoulder pellets for years so this is one for the record books.... see if you can breed those pellets for future use.. [Distributed by Energex btw]
Great to hear you are having good luck with those Chows. I have a batch we picked up at TSC in 2014. Slowly picking away at em and they are burning great too.
Tully, Compared to what Pete has in his area. These middle of the road stuff is a blessing. We can't all be as privileged to have super premium chit. Be greatful you have good chit and Not all of us think them chows are that bad. Most here think they are middle of the road all around and pretty decent. Hopefully the rest of the gang burning Chow's, NO's or FSU's will agree?? You wanna see ash. Try some chit river or from what I hear some North American's. Good ol batch of wally worlds penningtons should also give you a reality check.
trust me I've burned bad high ash Pellets... I've been burning propellets and magic sparks for three years and they are hands down the most heat output of anything I've used. There a great pellet! We got screwed by American Pellets and Michigan Wood Pellets this year they swamped my area with garbage... Try American Pellets if you want to clean your stove daily.. Man they are bad... Stove Chows where decent last time I burned them not as good as pro pellets but not dirty Pellet either.
Glad you like them. I have never had a problem with Chow's, one of the more dependable brands out there. But even your batch sounds better than normal.
Yeah, FSU's are a nice decent pellet that I've burned tons of (see what I did there? ). Are they low ash? No, but they aren't heavy ash either. The put out good heat and are consistent-sized so I buy them on a regular basis. If there hadn't been fires sales on other stuff last spring, I would probably be loaded up on FSU's for this year.
haven't burned chows for couple years so didn't know they got upgraded since then,,,and yes, I have burned much worse back then including wally worlds Penningtons.
My worst ever has been north americans. Easily double the ash of chows or green supreme. Here is a pic of my xxv pan after maybe 10 days. And this was with stirring it up to minimize the ash volume. The pile from the pan to the pot took 3 bags to form.
Chow's upgraded? Don't think so. Ash might fluctuate a bit, But for the most part since 2009 chows have been somewhere in middle. Just saying, There are far worser bags of crap you could grip about...............
