I wish. Headed to Nashville. It's just not the same when it's 50* at Christmas. Hope to have some on the ground when I get back.

Weve had a white Christmas for all of the 17 years weve lived here although it was close one year. I grew up in Vancouver BC and although we may have had one I dont remember it as a kid.

Around these parts there is an old saying: Snow for Thanksgiving; mud for Christmas and it does usually hold true.

For those using sand or wood ashes; dirty snow (and ice) will melt faster than clean snow.

Winter has left here and spring has arrived; or almost. Very warm for the second day of winter.

Sorry to hear that, I know you have the problems with forest fires during the dry summer months.

Same here. I'll be putting ash from the can on some of the driveway tomorrow. Fell on my azz 3x today, twice at work, and once at a customer's house. Snow is extra slick on top of inches of ice. At home, i had my micro spikes on. I shoulda skipped plowing and just packed down the snow. Oh well.....

Be careful; you don't need any broken bones with Christmas just days away.

yup, left the snow in case a little rain tonight to soak it up 3 to 5 more inches tomorrow. . I think it's lake effect off Champlain. .. solid base for snowmobile though!

If you put a couple thump tacks in your boots it like a studded tire ... ya might slip but got some control!

Got some more snow yesterday and over night last night. Then we had a sunny day. The highways are clear again.

Years ago was slick as a politician at work and everyone was slipping. Went into the shop found the smallest screws I could and zipped a couple in the bottom of my boots. I sounded like a tap dancer on concrete but guess who didn't fall again!

We have a lot on the ground, and a little more too fall tomorrow, but it's supposed to rain on Christmas and be fairly warm. I still think it's going to be a white Christmas.

I plan on cutting and hauling a lot this week, as I'm off all week. I'm planning on snow in the woods to haul with my atv and tow sled.
