Anyone else smoked their dogs? Wacky weather happening here lately, and it warmed up quite a bit. In mild weather I can lose my stack temp and not have much coals left with poplar, as the stove warmth carries on for some time. Anyways, was watching tv and remembered I needed to reload, so I throw some shed crud and 3-4 pieces of poplar in. It's obviously not a cold start, but it's gonna smoke for a bit. About 5 minutes later the better half lets the dogs in and they make a beeline for me for some attention. Wow!! You would swear they were hanging out in a smoke house. Like when you have an outdoor fire, and get hits with lots of smoke, that's how much they smelled of smoke. They actually smelled good though considering it was poplar. I've seen the smoke roll out and down the chimney on a cold start, but it doesn't usually drop downwards off the roof slightly as it was doing. Small things amuse small minds I guess. This is my 3rd year burning and the first time this has happened that I know of.
Yes I've had this happen a few times...dogs don't seem to mind. Not sure what causes the smoke to sink like that.
