P/U soit would pas inspection & roll down the cracked windows .
We still do that in NY. LOL, but for that you have to go into The Bronx and give the guy a 6 pack. hahahaha.

 

I remember when you got that truck, it was nice!

 

Jack, I loved the truck. That was my first truck. It had some rust but the engine and tranny were solid. I sold it to a kid who needed something to get buy until he joined the service. He just left for boot camp in January. He called me and asked me if i wanted to buy it back, i chose not to. He did a whole bunch of work to it. In a few years my daughter will be driving so I will give her my Mitsubishi Lancer and more than likely buy a small truck as my main car. Problem is i drive 92 miles a day so a truck may not be ideal in terms of MPG. But at least I can justify having a truck since it will be my main vehicle.

 

Wow that stinks that trailers have to be inspected. We don't even inspect our cars or trucks in Ohio. I do have a trailer and use it in conjunctions with the truck. I agree the trailer is way easier to load and unload!

My NG bill for January was $150. That is the highest it had been in a long time. I usually run $40 in the summer, so $110 offset still isn't bad. I think part of it that we put in central air last year and the duct work definitely violated some of the attic insulation. I should get up there and see if I need to repair any or get some loose insulation to fill in around the ducts. Whatever my bill is, it is far less than my friends whose houses are much cooler than mine.

On the mule front; Wood comes to me for free from tree guys so I have never needed a vehicle to haul it. I can see where you decided to forgo the expense of maintaining one. The last time that I actually needed a truck a friend of mine coincidentally called me asking for enough cherry to run his smoker. I said sure and Ill even deliver if you let me borrow your work van to move some furniture. So instead of me burning a favor I got one.

Don't remember how much it costs, but it's not much. Maybe $15
Brian has a 7000 lbs trailer, maybe he will weigh in.... if he get's it inspected. lol

 

My electric bill for last month was $73. I probably burned about 30 gallons of propane on top of that too. Figure $150 total. Some of my co-workers got 600-700 electric bills. Ouch.

 

I agree to some extent, but that money isn't gone...its just tied up in equipment. You could sell it and recoup a good portion of if. Tractors and quality chainsaws don't depreciate much especially if you buy used.

 

I pay $10 per cord, then another $30 in fuel getting it home.
Don't add in trailer tags, vehicle insurance, tires , wear & tear ...... they all cost.
Nothing is free.
