Stove has been running like crap and this morning I noticed the status light was blinking 3 times.

My stove is shoved into the corner so I'd like to clean it without removing it. Any tips?

I've never pulled mine to clean always went from the front of the exhaust port with a paint brush and cleaned it that way and then shop vac out the ash .
After you clean every thing try a manual reset un plug for a few seconds plug in start it see what happens also check to see that the prob wires are still connected .

Thanks, going to use a wire brush and a paint brush and go from there.

If going to use a wire brush use a brass one softer , don't know if that ESP wants to be scratched .

I used to reach in and wipe with a soft cloth. The ash coats it and acts like an insulator making it read wrong.

I pull the ESP probe out, then push a 3" flue brush all the way through from the front. It only takes a couple mins to unscrew and pull the ESP. Just feel safer that way. Also with the ESP out you can give it a good cleaning with a damp paper towel.

Edit: DOH, I didn't realize you were trying to avoid removing the ESP! I though you were trying to avoid moving the stove in general, which now that I take a closer look at the pics - you'd be hard pressed to get the ESP out in that case too, sorry!

I'm going to say I got it, I purposely only cleaned the ESP probe and brushed off the combustion blower.

The probe was filthy. I must have missed it in the yearly cleaning, it will now be part of the monthly as it was simple.

I also think part of my problem is the Turman pellets I've been burning this year, the stove just doesn't like them.

    Thanks guys

HUH? It's a Harman.....everybody here says they burn any kind of pellet. Methinks the probe was your problem. Dirty fan doesn't help either.

Well, seeing that I'm right down the road from him, I'll take care of those pesky Turmans. Someday I might burn them. :vulture:

Hopefully it was the dirty probe, I have 40 bags of the Turmans left.

If you guys really want some Turmans I'll sell them at $5/bag. I'll hold them or take trades.

I've burned stale Green Supremes up to $9/Doug for pellets and my stove burns them all, it just does not like these Turmans!
