Well after the first week of use I am quite happy with the pellet stove. The first two days I ran it all day and night. Then after considering that I am really only using it for an area heater in the colder part of the house opposite the wood stove I decided I didn't really need to heat that portion during the night when we aren't using it. So I reloaded Monday evening and am just now ready to put another bag of corn and pellets in. So 5 1/2 days on o e load and the colder part of the house was quite toasty. I think I'll keep it.

Glad it's all working out for you, it's nice to have that extra heater for the super cold days like we've had .:fire:

Nice!! Glad it's working out for you. On warmer days it may not be needed. But extra BTU's and other options are always a plus when it's COLD!!

So I was playing around again with the stove yesterday. When i first got it it wouldnt burn on just corn so I mixed in pellets. But with corn prices still pretty low I was curious if it would burn again with just corn So i tried it out yesterday. I had a feeling that the corn I had first tried by itself was the issue as it was old and could have absorbed moisture. So I put a bag of just corn in and let it run. Been running 24 hours now on just corn and it still going strong. I think for now Im just gonnna burn the corn and keep the pellets for next year. Don't know where corn prices will be next year, may be low may be high. But still loving the heat that thing put outs for the other side of the house. Now I need to talk my buddy Andy into getting one of these, he heats with oil.

High M/C will burn, but not well. It's likely that was the cause.

With the burn pot mod and air wash mod, that thing should burn very well.

Pellet stoves have received a bad rep over the years because of small issues like this. Had Swags just given in and given up?? His opinion would have been that Pellet/Corn stoves suck! But he was persistent and now may caught the pellet/corn bug. ;)

A good stove, with a good exchanger, a good pellet, and a good operator, will heat a very large area, very easily.

My Enerzone has got to have the hottest convection temps I have ever felt out of a pellet unit. On the setting I run it at (25%-33%) I get about 300° air temp. Where my Quad on low (33%) would put out about 250°. For any wood stove owners who want to dismiss a pellet stove? I invite you to come to my home :) I will prove you wrong

For sure these pellet stoves can out out some good heat. We should start a thread that has us all put our stoves on high for an hour and take air temp readings....would be interested to see the results, along with feed rate and cfm.

That is a great idea! We would just need to keep the air measurements (how to/with what) consistant across the board so we would have somewhat an accurate comparison.

Yup, like maybe a thermocouple 1" from the output in the left, middle, and center. And if you are using an IR same deal. I actually have both so it would be a good look at both methods.

I have an IR and Cole Palmer K type Thermocouple.

    I'm down.. :)

I will be busy almost all day today. So results couldn't come until tomorrow or later tonight. (That's if someone starts the thread ??)

I will start a thread but I may not get results until Tuesday. I find it easier to experiment when the wife is not home. :)

I have to disconnect my ducting and open the dam windows just to play.

I saw over 600°F when I set the stove up and I had moderate pellets in at the time. Fire looked like dis too!
