    I'm making a plywood box for the front of my atv that will hold my saw, oil, gas, and a few other things.

    The commercially available saw mounts are expensive, and only hold a saw. I have the plywood, and screws, and probably even paint to make it weather resistant.

    I'm waiting until after Christmas as I have new tools to make this box. :ups:I'll mount it with a couple of u bolts, or maybe a bungee.

    I mounted mine to plywood front rack woodcutting attachment

    Crates are screwed to plywood, big washers
    Bungee from crate to rack , around saw handle

    DexterDay has one, I bought it a few years ago on clearance from Cabelas. Someone here posted the sale and I bought two of them. Gave one to Dex and one to another member as I didnt have a quad at the time. He should be able to post a pic, I will see if I can find the one I bought online.

    Dave, that's another option for me, but I only have narrow plywood scraps so making a box is the first route I'll go.

    Do you have lights on your atv? Or do you just work during the day light?

    Gun rack doubles as a chainsaw rack.
    Its rubber and does a good job unless I'm flying.

    I have the same one I bought off ebay.

    My star screw handles busted off, I just bight replacements from TSC for like $9 for both. And on long trips it seems to have trouble keeping the saw vertices it keeps tilting backward. But it does ok.

    Sounds like you need locking handles. We use those all the time in industrial use. You have to push a button in to let them release or back out.

    Nah . I will get a pic, it uses U bolts to secure it to the rack.

    The easy adjust knobs don't really have an issue with them other than they were brittle, one was busted basically when I got it.

    Hey dancan thats a good idea for double duty for gun racks. Certainly. Beats trying to hold a saw on an atv with just bungee cords. I see alot of utv s in my area using the 'sawgrip" brand holders.
