UPC GLN comes back as Michigan wood pellets. Ya might wanna pass on them!! Can you say Yuk?? Key Licensee GLN Co. Name City State Province 0899097001003 Michigan Wood Pellet Fuel, LLC HOLLAND MI -
Thanks buddy that really chaps my ---! I swear I'm about to give up this year. Can't find anything worth the buy nearby. I even gave benningtons another shot and they are as bad as I remember..
That was St Johns TSC. It's unreal this year! I can't find anything good I called Menards tonight and they have what I want so I'm just going to make the 45 minute drive..
I can't believe St John's was out of pro pellets, they had truck loads a few weeks back. Everyone must have been buying at the $185 price. Plus many folks where getting another $10 of that.
There not out they just havnt stocked them at all. I drive by tsc and farm and home everyday an have been checking. I asked them both and they only stock the local junk this year... I have been told multiple times now they have no plans for pro pellets this year. I'm really disappointed by this honestly. What they had on sale was the American Pellets. They sent a flyer out advertising propellets on the cover but they never had them. It really pizzed me off when I called to reserve my normal 2 pallets and they said no problem. Why em I arrived they where no where to be seen and they said all they have this year was the American Pellets. I actually started looking way back in the end of September this year to get a jump start a few bags at a time.
I should give you my number Dpopps that way if you see them again I can tackle the clerk until they sell me some! I have given the. My business for Pellets 3 years running now lol!
Wish you were having better luck Pete. This year is strange in that I haven't seen the Michigan wood pellets anywhere. In previous years, they were everywhere. Home Depot is carrying ThermoGlo or something like that. Never heard of them, but I wasn't going to try them at $4.79/bag. Menards in Comstock Park has been carrying AWF, with a bag or two of Somersets every now and again, and Family Farm and Home has had all Pro Pellets and some softwood brand I never heard of (but want to try at some point). Whenever I look on Craigslist for pellet deals, I see this ad for Michigan Wood fuels. I wonder if they're trying to grow or if they lost some dealers because their pellets are some of the ashiest out there.
Pete, I'd give them a call from that CL ad 343amc posted - maybe there's a local lumber yard, etc. in your range stocking them.
Like the girl told me at TSC "They are all wood pellets" I told her that was like going to a restaurant and paying for a meal and not knowing what you were going to get for your money! Gary
I emailed them and was told that its a crap shoot when TSC and Farm and home get them. TSC and Farm and Home say they wont carry them because they found a local supplier in Corunna ( American Pellets ) Those are no good in my opinion.... There closest recommendation was in Howell MI. Too far of a drive for me to go for pellets. They did say that Self Serve lumber was supposed to get Magic spark soon though!!!!! So far they dont have any in stock and didn't say yes or no to when or if they will get them in.
I burn a lot of crap and middling pellets and last year's ThermaGlos were horrible. Not only ashy, but luke-warm heat coming out of the P61a . For this past shoulder season I was mixing them with anything else just to get some sort of heat. I had purchased several bags of TG's the winter of 2014-2015 and they weren't that bad (not good, but at least the stove could get some heat out of them). So, I would be careful on buying those.
Well yet another disappointment I just got the scoop on Self serve they have Vulcan and Isabella both crappy pellets.
