Had a buddy start hanging out more and I kept putting him to work cutting and splitting with me. So he stopped over last night and we were talking about saws, he mentioned he needed a better saw as he just borrows his dads. So today he sends me a pic of the brand new Jonsered cs2255. Love it, and tomorrow I'll be picking up a Husqvarna 338xpt!
Nice. That's a great firewood saw!! And your getting one of the better top handle saws out there! Congrats to both of you!
Yeah I hear you on the CAD...... You are going to love that top handle. After using mine I'm not sure how I got away without one! I think my CS2135T is basically the same 39cc saw as 338XPT you are picking up. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I love mine and can't wait to hear how you like yours.
Ok, trying to figure out which saws the 2255 compares to on the husky lineup? Is it basically a 55cc rancher? I have been trying to get a price on the 2253 for a few days now with no success. So how does the 2255 and 2253 compare. Looking at the specs I am really confused the 2255 is 5ccs more than the 2253 and it weighs over a pound more than the 2253 but yet it's the same HP and rated to run a larger bar and chain? I'm not getting the logic here.
Yeah, the 2255 is a 455 Rancher. The 2253 is the 550xp. 2 entirely different animals. What is the torque comparison? Ranchers are rated for 24"? But believe me, they are not well suited to do so. The weight difference comes from the Rancher being a clamshell design (lots of plastic) and the 550 a cylinder on case design. Also because of the larger displacement, the Ranchers seems like it will have more torque (have not looked) where the 550xp beats it in sheer speed.
Did you direct your now infected with CAD buddy to the horde here? It will help to be in a group setting with likewise infected, I mean like minded individuals... LOL. Congrats to the guy on a new saw too!
CAD is for real. Ive already reasoned that a new 2188 is in order. Not to mention a new 562xp. Not sure where Im gonna get the bread to fund these gals but, CAD says dont be sweatin the small stuff. ...ok.....
Yes, it is real and this is pulled directly from the CAD handbook. Page 24 - section 4 - article B - When your spouse or conscious advises that funds are not available or that this is not a wise decision at the moment? ? Do not listen to them. Go directly to your dealer or FHC Classifieds and purchase the "NEEDED" items immediately and don't sweat the small stuff.
Well I ended up not getting the saw, was going to trade a gun but the guy wanted more on top and it was already a good trade so I passed.
