So far this winter, I have added more wood to the pile than I have burned, even with this last week being a lot of below 0 weather, I've added 2 or 3 trailer loads, a pick up box and trades some welding work to a neighbor for a manure spreader full of fence line cut wood, talk about a chit load of wood!!! He had the thing piled decent and heaped! All for $85 off of his bill a great deal on both ends! I've been splitting and stacking every chance I get, so like I said in the headline, I can't keep this up! I'll run out of room on my 2 acres by 2019! On the upside, less lawn to mow. PS nevermind the smoke coming out the chimney, fresh load always does that, after one burn it's blowing very little to no smoke.
Go man go!! No such thing as too much wood! Always something called too much lawn to mow! Hid that grass! It means more time to play in the summer.
Best part is I think the manure wagon of wood will be an ongoing deal and he only a mile down the road! I have no problem with that deal, he's eliminating a lot of work for me
Git after it, ain't no such thing as too much wood. I estimate I have 15 cord split and stacked and am starting to get a bit nervous about running short!
I interrupt this regularly scheduled programming for a great big "YOU SUCK"-Now, carry on...Seriously,, great hoard
I know it light I said I've got 0 complaints about the deal and he seems happy to, to box elder, a little cherry, maple, and a bunch of elm. I hope to get it sooner next time, this stuff sat for longer than I care for and some started to get punky in the middle, split stack and sit, it should do well!
Yes most definetly, my goal is to have 2 6 foot stacks on the west side of our property, for a decent wind block, were pretty much in the middle of the field, we've got a couple trees on the property but not nearly what I want. East side of the property (picture facing the stove) I planted 9 Apple trees and 4 pines along our property line, it'll help a little but not quite there yet.
