We had 14 when we were having coffee, it's dropped to 9 with the temperature trend heading south.

We're just burning the wood stove today. The temps upstairs this morning were 72 and the basement was 76.

Sitting at -21 C (-5 F) before the wind, -30 C (-22 F) with the wind. Burning poplar as always, and wondering why the weather network can't seem to predict the weather any further ahead than a day.

That's how I feel when I read a lot of these posts, all the exotic (to me anyways) woods being burned and here I am the happy peasant with poplar.:(

Beatiful sunny day here with temp around zero. Winter storm warning starting at noon on Friday going to 6PM on Saturday. We may get 6-12 inches of snow and a little bit of wind to blow it around. Burning some oak and elm.
It is helping today that the wife is baking up some winter squash. Adds a bit of heat and humidity to the house.

Cold here as well this afternoon, and wind. Currently around 12 on the back porch. They have issued wind chill advisories for about next 19 hours. 4pm-11am. Temperatures overnight to go to possible -5 and wind of 10-15mph with gust up to 25. Wind chills could get to -22.

Burning some Elm, Maple, and a few small splits of what looks like Oak.

At 20 minutes to 5pm ET, we're sitting at 5°F headed down to - 11°F with winds gusting to 35mph giving an overnight wind chill of -35°F. Did a late afternoon full load of maple ash and birch, as well as the pellet stove going before heading out to a Christmas party in an hour. When we get back, I'll load again. Stay warm folks! :shiver::fire:

The last of the cherry rack we have inside is all smaller rounds of some very nice sugar maple and some beech. The basement temp is 79 and it's 72 up here.

I have been running the pellet stove today along with a fire this morning in the liberty and the above fire.

The last I looked at the outside temp it was 8 with the winds gusting pretty good.

The basement hit 80 so I shut the pellet stove off until 8 or 9.

FB_IMG_1481826140945.jpg Lake effect snow bands got us pretty good this morning. 13° and the snow globe settled down, for now. I just tossed some ash and beech in the boiler, I will pack it full after the Wings vs Kings game.
