Good price, has me thinking. Most places would be more than that. My dealer is the only place I know whose bag price is his ton price/50.

I've been hitting the hardwoods heavy and overall pretty good . The ash is a little thicker but can't complain with the heat output .

Just put those in last night and they seem to be burning well . The look and smell are the closest I've seen to Somerset's and Red Oak is an excellent source from what I understand. Unfortunately they're not sold near me had to make a road trip to get them .:tractor:

Russell thanks for the tip on the Blue Ridge. I will throw a couple on the "test pile" later in the season. I know the EZB Softies are your main pellet this season, just wondering if you have tried the EZB blends?

Your welcome . I haven't seen them around or I would , although I made have gotten them by mistake last year because my 3 tons were a lot darker and longer . The bag did not say blend but I have my doubts . They did burn fine and put out good heat .

So for my CB1200 I think the hardwoods are better suited for when the stove has more shutdown time to allow for the ash to get blown out of the burn pot or to be manually cleaned . When it comes time to constantly run that's when the softies really shine .:whistle:Also if anyone has a suggestion on a way to pull the burn pot clean out handle without shutting the stove down , maybe leave the hopper cover open a little longer when loading then pull it ?

I don't think you can, all the hot embers will fall through. I just turn the thermostat off let let the stove burn out and pull the rod quick and turn the thermostat back on. Fire gets real big sometimes but it evens out then.

Decided with the temps getting down to -0 tonight, plus the wind chill projected for the next 24 hours in the -20's, I would mix my last bag of Cubix with some FSU's I found for the P61a. It will probably weird out with the good stuff in it. P43 does fine with the PTL's, so no need to change that up at the moment.
