Yeah, those were the days......hanging around in the food store parking lot. Wearing a pair of jeans with the bottoms cut out of both front pockets. Holding a bag of groceries in each arm. Standing next to vehicle and then asking a good looking women if she could please reach into my pockets and grab my keys.....

Then they came out with those damm remote unlock key fobs!

    Insomnia strikes again.

So....coffee and hoarders club! House is warm, outside is not.

The OWB temp was low when I got home from work yesterday due to some poorly stacked wood in the firebox that had fallen over and spread out.
I split up some small oak pieces, added some maple and within a short amount of time, house was warming up nice. Also lit off the kicker stove in the basement which we played a couple hands of cards near.

Chased away the chills I got during the work day-you just can't beat the warmth of a wood stove!

Good caffeine to you folks. Hope to get a little more wood moved this morning. Then my neighbor and I plan to build the large doors for the other end of the barn. I am waiting till pay day at end of the week to buy the tracks and hardware I need for them though. So they will probably be hung on Friday or Saturday. Maybe we will start ripping and installing some of the batten boards as well.

Good morning, it's COLD out of doors at 2 degrees, 70 inside.
The old snow blower did it's job yesterday moving the 3 inches of snow that fell, even opened up one of my neighbor's driveways.
Cold is gonna' hang around for a couple days, I better get out and feed that Greedy Hungry Beast out back.
    Be safe out there.

Clear and really cold this morning. -5C/23F Got the kitchen all back together yesterday. The lights work really well. Pretty tempting to wash down the walls and paint the bathroom but I have Christmas presents to work on today. Once it warms up I think campinspecter might be headed out for a load of wood this morning. Also got my third pair of socks finished so I am started on a pair of fingerless gloves. Hopefully they will be finished before Christmas.

Edit: I just realized I posted the wrong temps yesterday. It was -5C/23F. Nobody noticed?

    Well start eating more! :)

I hear you...even at 6'4" and 220 it still doesn't give me much insulation either. :)

As a very short person - not quite 5' - I get frustrated in stores with food on shelves above my head. Standard equipment in my kitchen is a stool. campinspecter bought a light aluminum two stepladder which I use a lot in the basement.

Composted horse manure and bedding straw is great on gardens. Best carrots I ever grew were in composted horse manure and bedding straw. Unfortunately there isn't much of it around here.
