It's -4 feeling like -11(12f) out was snowing but that stopped for a little bit burning cherry and poplar mix.

The weather guessers were right, it is cooling off, it's 19° outside now and still 74° inside. I am going to cram the hog full of Beech in a few minutes, as I have class tonight, and I don't want to be outside any longer than necessary when I get back.

Just wait until this cold we have here blows across lake Michigan. It's butt cold today. It hit a high of 8° here, and it's at 6° already and dropping fast with no clouds to hold the "heat" in. This am it was 4° inland a little bit.

Loading with beech, and maybe a piece of ironwood.

In this temp, my furnace comes on very sporadically. It went on once today, once just as I got home, and once this am as I left this morning.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

First real dose of winter showing up this week. Calling for 10 tonight and single digits the next couple nights after that. Just loaded the stove with enough hedge to launch it into orbit.

Early estimates for another arctic front and up to 10" this weekend. Kinda hoping it happens, will be fun to hunker down inside, run both stoves and bake Christmas cookies:)

Bought a foot on the ground. Deep enough where you want to make sure you have boots on when you get off the beaten path.
even considered going snowshoeing last Sun. (Right!)

The last batch we got was pretty fluffy and settled quite a bit already.

Cold and windy here through Fri. Wind chill temps will be -25. Daytime highs will be low single digits; night time lows will be below zero single digits.
Eldorado is converting wood into usable btus at the moment!
I am finally getting over being chilled today!

Tonight is the last warm night until next week. We'll see 22°F then single and negative temps over the rest of the week. Loaded the oakleaf with ash and maple.

Unfortunately not. It was running about 20 k this morning, but it never let up, in fact it got worse! It was gusting for a few hours and settled down, then went back up. Sitting at -21 C with 30 k wind gives a windchill of -34 C

Englander 17 pulling for all it's worth lol. If the forecast is right the weather should break on the 18th.
