Nah I like it cold and the snow makes me appreciate a nice toasty warm house that much more. Suppose to be a cold winter I'm excited :D:coldfire:

believe me you acclimate to the south;)
hard to beat "winter" ending late mid-late March maybe a freeze early April but as sentimental as I am about snow, I don't miss shoveling the chit or plowing as much as that is fun a bit each year

It's 27° out, nice and warm inside. Burning beech and elm, but letting the coals burn down a bit. It's warm in here.

Ha! As a matter of fact, I do buy the shovels but don't allow her to use them.
At least, I prefer her not to use them as her shoulder, elbow, back etc is not geared for their use!
I did have a nice surprise last Fri though....my side of the garage driveway was shoveled by her!
(That'll probably be it for the winter now)

24* and just filled the boiler with more ash, I thought about some beech, but I have to be up early, so I'm not worried about the burn time.

32° and raining on top of the snow last night. Downright miserable if I had to commute. Put two splits on the load of coals from the overnight. Got a good burn with maple and oak last night.

About 22 on the back porch. Ash and a couple Maple splits in there too.

Not sure how much snow we received. Be finding out soon though.

24°F with snow. Only received an inch overnight, so i highly doubt we'll see more than 6"

Loaded the oakleaf with birch and maple.

32 deg and 2" here. It's supposed to turn to a mix in a while, so as it gets day light I'm gonna clean up while it's fluffy.

Just above freezing. Brought some "shorties" in last night. Oak. Tossed on surviving coals. Fired right up.

It was 24 this morning so we loaded the liberty up with more cherry.

We received about 2 inches of snow last night.
