Snow is due in here around noon tomorrow. I just built a new front porch, so tomorrow morning I need to get the railings up. I have a club meeting this evening and they coerced me into acting as the club president a couple of months ago so I can't just skip out and keep working on it today. Why am I busier now that I have "retired" than I ever was when I was still "working"?
7-10" tonight through tomorrow for us, then single digit highs during the week. never weekend snow might make this storm look small. I gotta get wood moved now, and off of my butt while there's still daylight.
Latest forecast looks like we should be around 7" here. Higher amounts as you go SW. I wonder just how much snow has fallen in SW lower MI in the past several days as it seems the snow has not stopped for a while now and a foot or more expected with the coming storm. Perhaps this tells us this winter will be much different from last winter.
This is right where I'm at right in the middle I could get more here TOTAL SNOWFALL OF 6 TO 8 INCHES BY LATE SUNDAY NIGHT. THE COVERAGE OF SNOW SHOWERS WILL BE GREATEST BETWEEN THE M-59 AND I-69 CORRIDOR. PERIODIC BURSTS HEAVIER SNOW SHOWERS WILL OCCUR AT TIMES...PARTICULARLY ACROSS THIS CORRIDOR.
A friend of mine told me about 2:00 pm that he has 30" and it was still snowing. We still have the same 5-6 inches
Reminds me of old times! We used to live by Gaylord and the drive from Kalkaska to Gaylord could always be interesting in winter months.
As I recall, we spent 5 winters near Yuma and we could count on it usually in late January or February that Tuscon for sure would get some snow and sometimes Phoenix would too. That, of course, made big headlines down there. Fortunately, we never saw snow around Yuma but three or four times it did freeze at night.
I'm glad I don't have to clean all those cars off. I worked overtime at the factory couple of nights doing that, clean the car off, drive it to the Rail lot, go get another one, not fun, especially when someone left the window part way open and you jump in and set in ice, snow and water
Our youngest daughter is coming back north from Detroit tomorrow, I'll see if she can swing by for some jerky. That looks good.
No, I got a late start, but I got enough wood up from the stacks to my patio stack and some in the garage. Lots of beech. Some more ironwood, and a little shagbark. I need a better cart. The plastic yard cart is not made for this. It's tippy, and now has a crack in it that I'll need to repair before spring. A piece of sheet metal and pop rivets should fix it and keep it acceptable looking for the wife.
