When was this? I remember the Oki craze back at the old site when I first started burning in 2009. It was when they appeared at BJ's that I remember the most and then the cat pizz smell became the talk. Never had any bad smells in mine and they burned better than the Green Teame that I was burning in my first year. But I did find better pellets real quick for similar money and really havent used them since. Overall back then they were still a top tier pellet and better than any Big Box stuff.

PTL's in the hopper of the P43. Won't start burning until probably tonight as there was still some Infernos in there. p61 is still burning Infernos, but thinking about mixing in my last bag of Cubex to get a little more heat during this coldish spell.

I seem to remember some sayin yuk. A fella I work with and a neighbor down the road had clinker ville and sooty glass. I scored 20 some odd bags on the cheap. Burned OK for me, But were not as dandy as my test hit!!

Might have been from the mill over yonder that was just as good, But not quite as good. :zip:

And then came the "batch difference" of some pellet brand discussions. The true "good stuff" doesnt have much of this issue, if any

Maybe 1 and 1/2 or so. As long as I don't bump it up to 75ºF......... Which is likely today.

She will empty the hopper in less than 20 hours in hi(heat level 5 trim'd to the max). She can eat when she wants too. Luckily thats rare as I can keep it in medium and switch to high octane. Try to keep her on a diet as much as possible. Well as long as them polar vortex chit don't happen.

I'll be dumpin in them hamers sooner than I thought. I just checked and theres only like 15 LBS. or so left just before noon. Had over half a hopper(approx 60+ LBS?) at 6:00 am ish..........

    Freakin pig!!

I might give it a quick firebox, liner clean, ash pan dump. First of the season............ No need to do the vent just yet. Plus its cold out. Maybe on the next warm day??

You using 6" or 4" vent?

I am using 4" and went all of last season without cleaning it. I only burned maybe 2 ton but still it was not bad at all when I cleaned it before burning this year, I could likely have burned just fine with it if I had to. Your using pretty good fuel so it may not be needed just yet?

Funny how back in 2009 and a few years after that, I was cleaning way more than I really needed to. As long as the firebox gets a quick brush down and I dont use chit pellets, the Hormone just chugs along.
