Agreed, a few inched isnt worth the blower and a shovel will actually have better results. Sooo, generally it would have been shovel time but want to make sure everything is working right before we get whacked. Plus it was 7:30 pm, just got home and wanted to be done in 15 minutes or so. Mission accomplished

JT - you should definitely avoid this product. :picard:

    :rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol:

If we didn't have well water / a shallow well, with the active bee population everywhere around the house, I'd use the silicone spray, my FIL used to use it back in the day.

    * They also sell the 'Teflon additive' branded can, but you may want to avoid that one, if any concerns w/ run-off into drinking water supply.

    * As we get older here / have realized we are just 'care taking' the land for the multitude of wildlife inhabiting the area (long before we arrived / long after we're gone), our usage of sprays/chemicals has been greatly curtailed.. Gotta keep those Bees happy.

When I first went out, I had every intention of shoveling....
Then, when I started, I guess it had turned to misty snow, or what ever,
    it was heavy/sticky...
Natural, as I said the other day, the snow blower was still in the shed...
So I moved all the junk in front of that, took the door off, got it out,
and used the hell out of it...
My driveway is 110' x 20'.... fluffy stuff <2-3" I always do by hand..
Wet stuff.... Mr. Deere takes over.........

Driveway's clear, still a little white chit around the yard, another messy commute tomorrow am..

Getting colder here this weekend - I've been scheduling client work in the evenings, so I can try to get things @ the house set, before the real cold moves in.

Gotta dash like a holiday reindeer (again) - have a great evening all!

bought 3 antique tractors today from a friend going into an assisted living facility. Sad in a way, as he is getting rid of his machine shop tools, his farm tractors, and the rest of his toys. a 1942 Silver King R42 i think (pretty rare), a John Deere M, and an Oliver 60 row crop, all restored. He did excellent work on all three, so I'm happy to get them. I intend to donate them one at a time to the Zagray Farm Museum, and told him to treat them as if they were his when he is there. :tractor::tractor::tractor:

got about 3 cords of white and red oak cut to firewood length sitting in Harwinton. making arrangements to borrow a dump trailer to make moving it easier. my New Holland loader tractor is on site, but i'll need it at the office if it snows. hopefully it will work out

Looks like we may get a little more over night. This weekend looks to be real cold. Low in the teens. It is too early for this.
