    Working on a buddies ms 270 and a 020T.

Giving the 270 a decent muff mod. Cut out most of the internal baffle and opened up the stock outlet to about 3 times the original size!! Limiters have been removed and time to tune tomorrow !

image.jpeg I acquired this as a box o 181se a couple years ago, finally got around to new bearings, seals, mounts and a good cleaning. It's a thin ring and once I put it together compression is right at 180 cold.

Miss my Poulan 475,sold it on Feebay November 2011. Finally ''replaced'' it with Jred 2077 Turbo (basically same saw but red/black) in March 2015. Hope to get another 475 sometime.

I have yet to find a 2077 but I have a 2083 and the Poulan counter part 505. That whole series are pretty good runners.

Have that 270 back to my buddy last week!! He thought it was a different saw.

These little buggers come alive with a muff mod. With the proper tune and a sharp chain? He said it's 10 times faster than it was new!

It was at least 2 times faster. It was turd when it was only turning 10,000 rpm when I got it. Not to mention the chain sucked... Bad!!

My 550xp. Love running this thing. After seeing a few 555 pics, have to say that is a pretty looking saw.
