    I really tried to have some nice 50cc saws. . . 545, 550, and 55..

But something about the 60cc and up crowd ;)

Now the goal is to "KEEP" Both of these. The one I traded for and the one I bought a year and a half ago. One needs ported to show the difference at the GTG in May at Swags house in Canton, Oh.

Other than the dogs, the tri port muff, and the 3/4 wrap.. You would hardly know the difference. :p

I have a 460 Mag, but it's spread out in two separate kitty litter trays with a shattered piston, not much different from when I got it except that the parts are substantially cleaner now. Given your enthusiasm I may end up keeping mine as well after it's fixed, though it will never be as pretty. The air filter cover for mine is cracked a bit on one side, and the sprocket cover is aftermarket, also cracked. But then the practical side of me says it's smart to keep the ugly, functional saws and sell the pretty ones.

Nice. I was getting worried that you were getting to many "offbrand" saws. :D:rofl:

I'd like one more Husq. The 2 Husq's I'd like tow own are the 55 Rancher (have one, just need the closed port cyl), and the 555 (a lightly used and abused one ;))

Other than those, I will probably stick with my Stihl's :)

I wondered the same thing a while back, and the best answers I found were that they're helpful when felling trees that flare out a lot near the ground. Without a dog on the outside, the sprocket cover might reach the flared trunk / root tops before the inboard spikes bite into anything. I don't think the extra spike is typically important for bucking.

Yep falling and using them to make face cuts are when the larger spikes come in handy.

Nice saw Dex, you sure trade a lot!;)

I agree about the pretty saws. I have a real nice west coast 046...I walk right by it and grab the ole used 044 95% of the time.
