I meant, since you thought with all the members on here, we should be able to come up with a few more questions....
Our house came replete with a block and flue tile chimney, from basement thru center of house up 22 feet to the crown.
Terra cotta thimble/flue interface often loosens up with heat up, cool down- thermal cycling- and furnace cement cracks and gets repaired.
I think it's a viable thing to cover if someone buys a house and wants to heat with wood, and is faced with a similar situation....
    That's all....

In no particular order. Also, please add more myths.

    FAQs
My stove manual says not to build a roaring fire in a cold wood stove. How do I safely bring my stove up to temp?
How hot should I burn my stove?
When is the best time to cut firewood?
    How is firewood measured?
    What is seasoned firewood?
What size wood stove do I need?
What kind of 2 cycle oil do I need?
How do I dispose of ashes?
How high should I mount my stove pipe thermometer?
What is seasoned wood and how do I know when my firewood is ready to burn?
Do I need a flue damper?

Things to do when you develop a fire that is going nuclear. ie cut air supply, close damper, toss on a scoop of old ash from the bucket ect.

firewood will last indefinitely if kept off the ground and out of the elements.
Don't cover it completely with a tarp or it won't breath enough to dry

Welcome aboard which "Leeds" do you reside in?

Hi Grahamt , for whatever reason I posted this for another member, WaddleRemodel . Personally, I have never seen rot in old stacks, but I am in extreme dry climate.

Not that I know of unless its in moist soil for a LONG time, and I only heard of that, not seen it in person. Just do as basod said :) Also, have you seen Backwoods Savage wood primer? Ultimate instruction manual.

You'll be fine! And yes, it takes a couple years to get ahead, but well worth the wait for seasoned wood instead of fighting to keep damp wood lit, and seasoned wood burns hotter.
