Today Pallet Pete came over and helped me out mounting a new motor on our log splitter. We're happy to say it also starts easily and it has a throttle on the new motor. I hate those motors with no throttle and when you start them they are at full throttle right away, no warm up to the engine. Pete also told me he does the same as we do. That is, run the motor on the splitter about half throttle. It does the job just as quickly and there is less noise and you use less gas too. If you do happen to get a tough piece of wood to split then you can always give it full throttle for that piece then throttle back. So thanks Pete. You saved my beat up body a lot of pain.
You know it went well when the implements used include: WD-40 A framing hammer Wonder bar BF screwdriver channel locks and of course vise-grips Good on ya Pete
I guess that's where working in a powerplant comes in handy - access to pullers galore It's log splitter - Beat it to fit, paint it to match
I have tools galore at home but that was 30 minutes away. Work also has tools galore but thats also a ways away. Dennis had to go hop on the quade and drive to the neighbours and get a puller. It was also bent to heck but it worked. That was after I beat on it and failed.
