Yep. I know its rare to see your hopper empty :whistle:and I know I have talked up my Enerzone to much already. But this is what it looks like when I forget to fill it  My Classic Bay also had very little in the hopper, but the Enerzone takes the cake. Less than a handful total.

I woke up to the stove alarm at 5am and decided to let it go (yeah. If it goes out unplanned? It sounds an alarm and self troubleshoots) Today was no fuel to the burn pot. So it's lists all possible things that could have caused it. I reset it and went to bed. Woke up and snapped pics.

And yes, the auger is sideways. This stove uses two augers. Kinda like the old double auger Englanders. Except this stove has them perpendicular, rather than in parallel. Also, never cleaned the hopper. Never needed to vac it out. The stoves eats fines all day and loves it.. That was my Quads biggest downfall.

Yeah. I figured it would be hard for most to snap a pic. But it's threads like this that help people make informed choices on stoves. Someone may have an 80 lb hopper? But if 20 lbs is left in the hopper? Then you really only have a 60 lb usable hopper.

Out of my 70 lb hopper, I'd say I have about 69.9 lbs burned ;)

My wifey gets the skillet when she'd see dat! :emb:

That thing sucks it dry dex, Mine leaves 10 to 15 pounds in the hopper. Worse with coarse textured pellets. Pretty impressive.

Luckily I too have a 3 bag hopper.

Mine use to get pretty empty but different pellets = different results. My hot to the touch hopper is the problem, creating a gummy build-up:mad: I would go as far to suggest the softwood's are the resin residue culprits!

This is why I'm going to have a welder build me a hopper extension. It is my ONLY complaint on the VF100. I know Traeger pellet grill owners have used ski wax to "lube" the hoppers with success, I wonder if the same would work for my stove. I doubt it because you can feel the heat on the front most hopper wall which would probably just cause me more problems. I probably will never try it. Just glad I'm not stuck with the dreaded hopper lid switch...

I'd do it too, But I'm finally starting to see straight again. Gonna have to pass. Maybe at the end of heating season when the boss doesn't notice as much?

My Quad Classic Bay 1200 was the same way. About a half handful of pellets is all that was left. :) After 5 years it would still empty the hopper.

Plus, when it is empty, I always vac it (used to vac the Quad once a week) out and polish with furniture polish. The Enerzone I have done twice. The bottom feed design eats all the fines and that's half the battle. The fines make the sidewalls rough.

No that's pretty much how it is most of the time .Some times I'll have a few pellets get hung up in the corners depends on what brand I'm burning . I don't have the gummy hopper syndrome.

Should have worded it differently. :)

Pics of how much is left in the hopper when the stove shuts down. Some stoves have a better hopper design and burn more of the actual load.

Or, we could see how many beer cans can fit in the hopper??
