Fiskars and splitting in the dark will do it. Had no idea it happened until I saw the nice clean slice. I waited too long and the 1" cut spread to almost 3".

Duct tape is a little too ghetto, these aren't my Sunday bests, but I would like to get another 6 years at least out of them. I got them through an employee (SIL's ex-boyfriend now, so no contact with him) for 1/2 price or about $100. Unfortunately, that means any repairs are on my dime. 6 years/ $100 I am doing ok, but 12 years and $115 and I'd be doing fantastic.

Will try the repair kit/ toe cap deal, I recall now seeing those elsewhere. Good call on all the suggestions.

Woke up to pouring rain. Hopefully I will get my Christmas cakes made today. I ran out of energy yesterday and football was on. Foot feels better today.

Great progress. I would think that the peak sections go slower than the bottom of the walls.

Mornin Hoarders, Eh?, woke up to a lovely dousing of freezing rain. Decided best way to handle the situation was to drink coffee and look out the window. Supposed to turn into rain later today as the temp rises. We will take er' as she comes. Everyone have a great and safe day.

Never saw snow or sleet. Starting freezing rain around 715 and hasn't stopped. Attempted to drive in to work, no matter which way i leave to get to main roads, big azz hills to descend. Once i got to the highway, nobody going anywhere, black ice, no salt. I'll wait an hour and see what happens....... stay safe!

    Good call on your part!

I left home about 15 minutes early to avoid those who would leave earlier than usual to get to work on time. That means I left my place at 4:30 - stuff was supposed to start around 5 but I hadn't hit anything by the time I got to work at 5:15. Looking out the window it looks like a bit of freezing mist in the Bedford area. Looking at the radar, my house was getting pink stuff earlier, is in a small clearing, then will go back to pink stuff followed by green.

Alot of schools have a 2 hour delay, my son however didn't. Frustrated with not calling a delay, and he texted he got to school safe, but school called explaining many buses were instructed to pull over and wait until conditions improve, so that's good!
