We need a new mattress. I've done some searching and reading and pricing and whatnot but still not sure what to do. I hate to spend too much but yet I would like a mattress that is comfortable and will last without the sagging. We've spent up to $2000 on a mattress but have to admit only one mattress we bought I liked. However, it did not last long enough to be worth the dollars. I will state that this particular mattress had a pillow top. I will also state we've had only innerspring mattress and waterbed. We had thought about one of the air bed, select number or something like that. My wife liked them but I was not impressed but was just about ready to buy one until one day we were laying on different beds in their store and one of the mattress covers tore. I was shocked to see just how thin and weak that stuff was. End of looking at that one. We've heard good things about the air beds and the memory foam and no doubt they have plusses and minusses like other things. The memory foam we looked at and tried were fairly comfortable but definitely both of us had a problem trying to roll over. In addition, we've heard from folks about smells and the foam is hot to sleep in. Gel now is added but it seems like yes it would feel cooler right away but it seems it would soon get to the same temperature and radiate back to the body. In short, we're stumped. We are right now sorely tempted to try one of the Tuft & Needle. A lower price but pretty good reviews. But, it is still a foam.
Mattresses are a matter of steep personal preference. I sleep on a Tempurpedic king and absolutely love it, but it's way to hot for my wife. She sleeps on a pillow top queen-size. Her mattress cost about 1/4 what mine cost and she's very satisfied with it. Some of our friends had a memory cell, but had trouble getting out of them! Good luck, Backwoods. Getting a good nights' sleep is one of the best things people can do for themselves and I'm sorry I can't help with the search.
Price them on Amazon, it will come shrinkwrapped via UPS and you will have to call Pallet Pete to haul it in for you. We got a hybrid memory foam/spring mattress with a cool gel layer and wow it is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. Saw the same mattress at slumberland for over 1000 bells. https://www.amazon.com/Olee-Sleep-I...&sr=8-1&keywords=mattress+memory+foam+hybrids
Looks like I can order it to your door Backwoods Savage with free 2 day shipping using my prime account.
I agree about the quality of the mattress cover on the sleep number bed but I always put a quality mattress pad on my beds so a non issue for me, I love my sleep number bed and have never regretted getting it, some people don't like them but I do, just my experience, satisfaction may vary for different people...Best of luck in your search...
We purchased a bed in a box from walmart 7 years ago and it is hands down the most comfortable mattress we have had. The mattress came in a shrink wrapped package and when we opened it it went POOOF and expanded. damm near knocked me over too. It cost $250 and has a 3" memory foam top of a traditional matress. Well worth the money and easy to get into the house. The box was 3ft wide and 2 ft tall easy for one guy to move.
we have had a foam for posturepedic cloud 6 years wife loves it.. just be careful ours is 20 inches deep makes sheets hard to get special order. there is a whole thread I think titled mattress guidance looking for it now... I would like gel in better.. dad has a memory foam adjustable.. head and feet elevate great if further surgeries needed
Thank you. I was watching a video that said to not use them unless (whatever) and it could void the warranty.
I ditched my box springs and use a platform bedframe. Its a few inches lower than traditional mattress and box springs on a metal frame, and it makes it MUCH easier for me get into and out of bed, and even sitting on it to dress of put my shoes and socks on etc.
I unfortunately sleep on a jagged piece of steel wrapped in razor wire with a constant flow of lava running through it but............. I have heard that this site has some good, and bad, reviews. I hesitate to mention it but for me I also feel safer if I fall off the bed while trying to turn over during vertigo, several inches closer to the floor than traditional beds.
We have had our sleep number bed for a very long time. I added a 4 in memory foam topper and a good mattress cover. love it. best bed ever. my pets love it also!
