Not sure how many here like Fed EX but I'm about fed up with the fools.

We have lived at our current address for over 38 years. During that time we've had many packages delivered yet they can't seem to find our place over and over.

My question to them is, "Don't they have GPS even in the trucks?" For sure they also have maps in the depot. Yet I've even had them send me notices that I'd have to pick up at the depot because they could not find my address. What?!

So I bought a new motor to put on our old log splitter. Quick delivery for sure as I had not expected it until today or perhaps Monday at the earliest. Yet I thought it strange that I still have not received a notice that the package will be delivered. That is really odd.

So, Wednesday evening I received a call from a neighbor who lives almost exactly one mile north of us. Said he had a motor delivered via Fed Ex. I congratulated him and asked what it was for. He said, "It's for you." Huh?

So I went there today to get the motor. He showed me where they left the package. It was on his back deck, so they had to carry it quite a ways. Yet, when he drove into the driveway, he could have sat the thing on the porch, which has a roof or even inside the garage (2 car garage with door open) as it was raining quite a lot. But instead put it on the deck where there is no roof and as stated, he had to walk further carrying this motor. Okay, probably not too highly educated to be sure.

But what is with this company anyway? One could tell by looking at the address number that he was a mile off! Do they even train there people?

btw, the box was a bit broken down from water but the motor is okay. But what would have happened if this neighbor decided to not tell me and just kept the motor?

I would play dumb and call Fed EX and ask where your motor is?

My issue is with the USPS. Lived here for 15 years now and recently they stopped delivering my mail unless it has my P.O. Box on it. Then there are all the companies that won't ship to P.O. Boxes... Grrr.

I hate getting anything by fed ex. Almost every time the box is ripped open and half the time something is broken. If the company only ships FedEx I'll think long and hard before I place an order.

My neighbor (same side of the road on the other side of a field) gets the Sunday Amazon Prime packages destined for my house. They send drivers out of the 'big city' post office for the Sunday deliveries, not the local drivers.

I guess the address numbers on the sign screwed to the utility pole in my yard isn't enough of a clue.

What I am finding that if I shop on-line a lot of companies won't accept a PO Box address. That is the only way we receive our mail. Everyone goes down to the Post Office and picks up their mail. Because it is a small town, if you leave off the PO Box address and just use your street address, we get the parcel thanks to the hard working postal crew that knows who everyone is.

I have depended on UPS and FedEx for 7 years now to have things delivered to my house (no USPS to my house). Consistently over the those years UPS brings all the light boxes, and FedEX only the heavy and huge boxes. I cannot help but wonder if FedEx needs better contract negotiations.

    Yep. Incompetence has its price.

Our postal service can't even read out address and we routinely get mail for our neighbors. I put those pieces of mail in those correct mailboxes, but do they do the same?

If the delivery services did their jobs correctly, there would be no issues.

    Sadly that's not the case.

I did something privately, used my neighbors address. I'm guessing my mailcarrier does it as a friendly favor, but he puts in my box which defeats my privacy

Our mail carrier is the nephew of our old carrier.
He fairly routinely delivers other folks mail here. I just put it back in the mail box with the flag up.
He still does it. Maybe he's in a time crunch and hurries too much, but truth be told, I think he's distracted by the phone that's attached to his ear.

I've had FedEx drive by my place on multiple occasions only to deliver my package to my neighbors place. FedEx also tends to drop my neighbors packages at my place. But it's not just FedEx, UPS has also done the same thing, though not as often. When it does happen, I give the carrier a call and complain, and let them know when they passed my place as well as let them know I do have them on video.

Then there us the Postal Service (USPS). I have received other peoples mail and usually just drop it off in their mail boxes. BUT, I've had some of my mail delivered to who knows where, once specifically was a financial statement for my little nest egg. That one was never delivered! Right after that I went green and receive an email when my statement is ready. I've had other mail with new debit cards where you could see the number was rubbed (copied with the use of a pencil sideways with a paper between) If that wasn't bad enough, my pin gets sent in a different mailing in one of those fancy security envelopes, fold and tear on 3 sides. A portion of the envelope had been torn off and when I squeezed the envelope to see what whomever might see, low and behold, there was my pin number in plain sight. So when I activated the card, I changed the pin right away.

I don't quite understand what this UPS Sure Post is, but whenever the person delivers the package (USPS) they act very coy trying not to face any of my cameras. One package recently contained 4 security cameras. The lady delivery driver for that day brought the package to my door and then threw it down. Only one camera had it's housing damaged. No big deal, I just bent it back, but still, she threw it down, as in slam dunked it.

I just attribute all of this to stupidity and their being hateful creatures! Next time, all videos will be brought to the respective carriers and played for the management.

As long as I'm on a roll here, Amazon seems to think shipping items with little to no packing is okay. I had a new DVR for my security system and a few other items on order. One being a MB-450 Offset trap not inside any kind of packaging. (a replacement for one of my other traps) So sure, this pound and a half of steel is slamming around inside the box with the other items, all electronic by the way. Luckily only the box the DVR was in was damaged, but not the DVR.

So, do I like any of them (UPS, USPS, or FedEx)? Absolutely not!

We've been at our place for 7 years and FedEX doesn't seem to have a problem finding us. However, both FedEX and UPS will deliver USPS mail here, but only if our PO Box # is appended to our street address! Example: "123 Anystreet#123". Some online retailers/sites will accept the # as part of a street address and some won't. We also have the rural PO boxes (clusters) where we used to be able to get mail addressed to our street address, but the people delivering it put our mail in our neighbors box about have the time and they would open it before they read who the addressee was! So we finally said to heck with this, dropped our cluster box and rented a box at the village post office and have everything sent there. The village PO is about 5 miles away, no biggie, but SHEEZ!:headbang:

For those who have mail delivered wrongly from USPS, I do know they prefer you do not deliver that mail but instead, put it back in the mailbox for them to pick up the next day.

The only problem we've had with FedEx is, there are times they deliver to the house and a package coming from the same place (different day) will get dropped off at the post office.

That sounds like job security to me...having to return at least twice to deliver a single package. :picard:

Its called smart post, its cheaper for the seller. If they are already delivering something to you or your neighbor they will drop it off, otherwise it goes to the post office. I hate it because our post office closes at noon and fedex comes to town at 1 so it delays my package by a day.
