We went out for Thanksgiving, but we did cook a bird, 22 lbs. At 47 cents a pound, that was a real protein bargain. Even bought some ham on sale. Have to watch the salt in the ham. I can have all the meat I want while on this diet. The doctor said to eat until I felt full. Really has been working. I don't stuff myself on it anyway. Was hard getting use to eating meat for breakfast, but not so bad. I don't feel hungry again until mid afternoon. Amazed that my blood work is so good.

    Missed this yesterday.
I got one just under 20lbs. for 8 of us. Wanted leftovers. My wife wanted me to get a 15#er, but I was the one who went shopping.....so:D
With all the trimmings, there's plenty left (I just had a leftover plate). We have a whole pan, plus another 1/2 of stuffing, some GB casserole, and some sweet potatoes too.
Unbelievably, there's still a pie in the fridge.
Yeah, when we were young, mom always made a mid 20 lb-er for the 7 of us. Gotta' say, as little as we had for a few years, I don't remember ever being hungry.

Went over to my sister and BIL for Thanksgiving. I bought my turkey frying paraphernalia with; and I deep fried 2, 11 turkeys...............one right after the other. They were great. Mom and Sis prepared the rest of the grub.

My BIL raised the bird we had. It was 35 lbs dressed, I wish I would've snapped a picture before it was smoked. It had to be quartered to fit in the smoker.
    Only picture I got.
