Well, I lucked into a saw so nice that I can't afford to keep it. Not far from me there's a little shop that buys and sells used tools, and just before Christmas this showed up there. This saw is obviously all-original, and has barely been used at all. I cleaned it as well as I could without disassembling (wasn't that dirty anyhow). Otherwise it is just as I bought it; I haven't so much as turned a carb screw. Starts easily and purrs like a... well, some kind of big, throaty, thumpy cat.

My guess is that this is one of those saws that just sat on a shelf for years after being purchased to cut up one fallen tree. From the looks of it, the 20" bar and chain are original too, worn similarly to the rest of the saw (barely). There's a nick in the chain catcher and a couple of matching scratches inside the sprocket cover, so maybe the original owner threw the chain, got spooked and put it down for good?

There are some tiny brown and white paint flecks scattered across it from where someone was rolling or spraying cheap house paint a bit too close to the shelf where this must've been sitting. There are also some extremely minor scuffs on the orange plastic, and a bit of paint worn off the bottom of the case. All of this is shown as well as I can in the pics.

Looking at completed eBay listings it's clear this would go for about $550 there, but I thought I'd knock off the eBay fees and offer it here for $480 ($495 if you want to use PayPal) plus shipping, in case any of our members has some extra money burning a hole in their pocket. Wish I did...

And finally a bit of video. This was immediately after I checked the compression so the cylinder was a bit flooded -- took an extra pull to get it going...

That is a very fine specimen of an 036 Pro. I have one myself.

If I didn't have one from an old man at work (means a lot to me) then I would have bought this one already.

I have a Cheapo 18" bar on mine, but the sticker is still on the front and it runs like a top

This is a fantastic saw Jon has listed. I would want about the same money if I was to sell mine. And it would be like pulling teeth to get rid if mine..

I have one that's 12 years old...over 120 cords . Still runs like day one... Never any issues!.. That's a keeper... Think I paid a little over 500 for mine new back then... You'll love that saw... Looks brand new!

Thanks for the endorsement, Dexter. Thought you might like this one.

Heh, this one had the sticker on it too when I got it, but since the print was pretty much gone (as it is from yours, it looks like) I just cleaned it off. You can still see the ghost of its presence on the front-end pic. Maybe I should've left it there...

I seen that.... Here it may not matter atvall. But eBay, even if it's not legible and the bar code is 100% gone. Most leave it there. I can tell that it was just taken off. :)

Just saw that my post was split by the quote ? I hit reply on the post to quote it. Must of not had signal so nothing happened. I typed my response then went back up to quote it again. And that is what I got?

I think I know why. It auto corrected Dex to Sex , so I went to change that and my cursor was after the D.

Just had to think about it.

    Ok derail.

So who bought the saw ?
