    More like "what's down today"

Got a nice doe this am. I have out to my friend up north that helps my parents out a LOT after they moved up to the family cabin. I'll get a couple of roasts for jerky making, and the hide. The rest, including the backstraps will go to our friend. He's processing it now.

Pretty nice doe, I let a spike go to grow and took the doe.

They've been coming down from Minnesota so there's that. Either way, it's all good.;).

woke up to a windy day with over cast skies. Our oldest daughter came for a quick visit last night so spent the morning visiting her and watching the Eastern CFL final. Fortunately our team won't be playing in windy snowy conditions for the Western CFL final. Might be cold though. Kind of weird though watching the game being played in the snow and looking out our window at grey skies and expecting to see blowing snow. Thankfully not getting snow here yet.

Made caramels for Thanksgiving then took the dogs out while I stacked and split some elm and ash for a bit.

We've been working 12hr/6 day weeks for the last six weeks, and the last couple Sundays I've either been sick or we took puppies up to the airport in Minneapolis, so I haven't got squat done. It was real tempting to lay in bed a while longer this morning but this might be the last semi-decent weekend for a while. The neighbor wants me to clean his cattle yard and spread manure, but a couple weeks back when we were doing a job just two miles from home here, I hauled most of my manure out to the farm while I had a sidedump close. Finally got out there today and got that spread then brought the tractor and spreader home to do his job, maybe? Loaded up a few loads of round bales and a couple oak logs to bring home and cut while I had the loader out there. We also have goats starting to kid. It's about a month early, but that's okay. Did some sorting and moving and getting kidding pens ready. And Keena my red healer is due to have her first litter of pups any day, spent some time getting her kennel a little more secure, she doesn't like to stay in. It was dark at 5:00, that was enough for the day.

Well, our team lost badly. It was a blowout. Should be a interesting Grey Cup game though because of the two teams that will be there.

Had a nice visit with our 3 grandsons today while Mom & Dad took a badly needed break and went out for brunch. We had so much fun. Looks like it's gonna be a regluh thing, every other weekend. Mom and Dad were noticeably in better moods when they got home... ;)

Ready to start a short work week.
Hope to finish a gas line addition for one house and then maybe start roughing in a new house? The new house was supposed to start in Aug; homeowner acting as general contractor had issues with the builders which ended up putting the project four months behind!
Now we get to work in a cold shell of a house.....Another reason why I'm ready to retire!
Like one guy at work says....
Are you going to retire in the spring?
Maybe today seeing how it goes!
