Good kindling split up

    Got some old cedar fence rails cut up, this will be some real good kindling. :fire:
    This stuff splits if you look at it hard
    Only use about 3 pieces per load so this will last long time.
    Brought a bunch in the house it smells good

    For years I had a big cardboard box of cedar shingles sitting in my garage. Then one day last winter it dawned on me that they would make great kindling for the same reasons HDRock mentions - easy to split, catches easily, burns hot. And the best part is it's free! Great idea, HD! :thumbs:

    Yeah, I looked at the radar, thunderstorm coming through soon, went out and got a bag of wood 10 minutes later thunder storm rolled in:)
    I don't bring much in the house when it's this warm, too many bugs, I have some on the porch too

    Cedar for kindling is great! 99 and I grabbed a dead standing (really it was leaning) cedar about 5 years ago and I am still using it!

    I had these laying around for a while decided I wasn't going to be using them for any fencing, might as well make some good Kindling out of them.
    Nice and clean for storing in the house

    Yeah....cedar shingles only go for about 99 dollars a bundle ....that's what I'd throw in the burner....or oops, look here's some dollar bills maybe we can rub them together.....:doh:

    No Matter what is, if it's laying around not going to be used , might as well put it to use

    Just had the low cold front come through here yesterday. Temps down to 28 and 2 inches of snow. Will be back up to 50 tomorrow.

    Hug a Great Lake and don't realize winter is here till January ....maybe....most of us don't have to come out for 3 years anyhow with our stockpiles .....ooooo...Dr. Strange love.....
