It just turned from light rain to a sleet snow mix here.

Mornin' Hoarders, 35 and foggy here this a.m.. sounds like you folks in the NE better dig the snow equipment out for this weekend. They said upwards of 12-15" for upstate N.Y and NE on the way. Headed into town for our weekly shopping trip, everyone have a great and safe day...............

 

Turned into a beautiful snow...not a lot snow but the wind is really making it look like a mini blizzard. Brought more wood into the basement. Suppose to drop into the teens tonight .

Good morning, lower 70's today with a cool down and chance of rain over the weekend.
Finishing up the morning dose of coffee with nothing planned.

 

We are in the 12-18 inch area, ole Gasifier has a couple of days before the snow hits the fan.

 

Aw guess it's time to chain up the tractor put on snow blower and install da snow tires!

 

Looks like sunshine here until evening. Home projects to do today. I have started another pair of socks while watching Thursday night football. quite a different game. Hope everyone has a great day.

 

Called my son...I mean text him. Asked him how he was feeling. He replied so so as he had a cold. I asked him if he was too sick to go out to a German pub for a few German beers tonight.

Answer....yes, he could make it.

Moral of the story....German beer cures the common cold!

 

Not entirely true as Michigan transplanted moose some 30 years back. I'm sure they have migrated down south a bit and thats what you're seeing!

So far knitting them but I would like to try crocheting a pair and see how they feel and fit.

 

There is an abundance of Moose here. The state has tried twice to reintroduce Elk. Each time the entire herd died off. There used to be here, were hunted off, never to be able to get reestablished. Must have to be the right genetic pool. Our wolves are wiped out also. The coyotes we have a some sort of wolf/coyote mix. I don't know what chance they have. The Fish and Game Dept. really protect the deer population because it brings in so much money. We have an over abundance of deer. Just ask anyone who runs a collision repair shop.

 

After I checked the property, I grabbed a load of that basswood and stacked it. After that it was time to clean all the gutters along with a half moon window we have that takes getting on the roof and a 16 foot ladder inside.

They're saying we'll get 12-18 inches (Sunday/Monday) of the white stuff so tomorrow will be a busier day.

 

I was looking through a FB page, "Journey on the back roads of Maine" I came across a picture of a woodsman taken in the late 1800's. In some way, this man reminds me of a man we know on FHC. Anyone else see the resemblance?
