Mama Bear wants a new pot and pan set. Wants a set of those ceramic lined "green" ones that are not teflon. You burn cheese in and slides right out too good to be true you can weld and powder a baby's bottom at the same time and make Christmas dinner with no worries cuz this pot does it all. Have any of you used them? Do they get destroyed in a dishwasher? Will they crack if you cool them too fast? Are they expensive dog dishes?:heidi:

They work well for a while but then loose their non stick. Cast iron is still da king.

If you want good (read lifetime) pots/pans, get Towncraft. Nonstick cookware is a gimmick.

Stick with the traditional and proven products. If it truly was a non-stick surface, how'd they get it to stick to the pan???

Wax slides off my finger?Just sayin!
Plus I have coated/baked a lot of pistons in the older days,it works. But not my choice for pans.I like my old heavy cast aluminum pans, like my huge texas skillet(teflon) and like my stainless pots for specific stuff.I reccomend he buys her the pans or gets the old ones upside the head!:heidi:

What he said. !WAY better to invest in some quality cast iron, than the newest craze. However, a cheapy teflon fry pan and sautee pan are always appreciated. Use these for every-day "beater" work and replace as needed. Makes good financial sense in the long run.

Yep,no,maybe.Cast is the king.Cast you have to be aware of maintenance. I like cast, will replace the one I dropped and cracked. But SS is used in restaurants for a reason, easy to clean and take care of.Also, smaller non stick is good for eggs-etc.

It's true. The Teflon goes in your food, and then in your stomach. Some say it won't hurt you, but it's putting something into you that was not really designed to be digested isn't good for you.

When you see the Teflon coating getting scratched, then you retire it, or use it for melting wax for firestarters.;)
