Go big or go home

Biggest tree in my area is a sugar maple over 5' in diameter at 10' off the ground it's dead and I have permission to take it down but I'm at a lose don't have a big enough bar

 

It counts kudos for loading those up on the trailer, the 30"ers took some pushing and shoving to get in the back of my truck.

 

Lol well I better get started eh!

 

here's a couple more ,the oak rounds in the background are about 42'' and the bar on the 660 is 36''

yeah it does ,thats my father and his friend ,i will keep an eye on those old timers ,not sure if its just the angle or what but i will mention it to them.

 

You kind of expect to see big rounds from our area. I will have to do some digging and see if I have any more pics to share. This log had shattered when campinspecter started cutting on it.

Some nice wood on here. Just dropped this about 30 minutes ago. Old dead hickory. Ms461 with a 20 inch bar.

 

I'll have to get a picture of the 38" dbh dead standing American elm that I'm going to drop one the crops are harvested from the field.

You are welcome to try that axe in a round of that elm if you want to go insane.

32" maple. Just got through it today, I'm shot.

 

Looks like they've been tapped over the years, I would love to mill some maple with that many years worth of taps!

 

When I seen that big hammer and wedges brought back memories of days before a hydraulic splitter.

 

I'm very happy that they are memories !

 

Amen to that. We get one back. We need to take care of that back. Strenuous lifting, bad body mechanics lead to a back that will not let us rest when we are older.
