Welcome Countrybiggen sounds like you have a lot of fun work ahead of you. So moving to Big Sky country. Love Montana and the people there. Spent some fun times in the Jordan, Fort Peck area.

Wouldn't need any Pine tree air fresheners if ya built with Pine! Or OAK on your stove.
I have a feeling that what countrybiggen was talking about missing in that pic.

Can't say that I have...maybe a pic once upon a time somewheres...seems like if done right they'd be pretty warm. Kinda like the straw bale houses I hear they build out West where its dry weather a lot

Straw bale houses built for rodents! And mold/mildew!

I think the cordwood house uses the wood but it is mortared in?

Must be all on the outside only due to building requirements/codes?

Straw bale homes have a plaster over the inside/outside....encapsulates the bales, which are 80% of the time infill insulation in a post and beam home....

This is very similar to what we are wanting to do. The shape would be way different and we only would be doing half logs. With glass bottle inserts.

Man oh man, if you ever do start something like that, you'll have to keep us all posted of the day by day progress with pics! Please!

Oh....and if you need help with procuring any empty bottles....just mention "beer"!

Hello to you all. I discovered this site several weeks ago and have spent nearly all my spare time reading new and old posts. Before seeing all of the over loaded PU pictures, I thought I loaded heavy. Now I only give myself a 7 out of a possible 10 for being loaded on my very biggest loads. I have also wanted to add to the modified splitter posts and take a picture of our wood stacks to share. Maybe I will figure out how to take a picture, then post it. I believe that I am better with a chainsaw than with computer stuff. I am cutting to fill an outside wood furnace for our home in NE Kansas using Stihls. I have lived with wood heat most of my life and also have cut many hedge posts. I have enjoyed and learned from what I have read here. Later,
    Kent
