Stopped by the nearby stoveshop who can order a BK, but doesn't keep in stock.
Needed some door gasket, and asked about the Sirocco 30 pricing. While we were talking, he mentioned they'd be getting some BK display models....A King, Sirocco, I think he said Ashford, Princess.
He said something about folks wanting to "kick the tires" on those, so I said "yep, I'm one of those who wants to see before I buy".
Maybe April or so.....I'm a happy camper, as this shop is only about 20 minutes from me.
They have a bunch of Regency stoves, and even have the 5100 sitting right next to the parts counter.
    Huge stove. Huge.
Anyway, I'll get a chance to see and touch a few BK stoves soon.

Papa D, Our last house had a Regency stove in the living room when we bought it and I can remember thinking "the firebox is WAY too small". I was used to a Fisher driving in 24"-26" pieces of wood. Well… as usual… I was wrong. That Regency was very impressive and would go all night with about half of the volume of wood I'd drive in the Fisher. If my local dealer had sold them here, I might have bought one. We used that Regency for 5 years with no problems at all, but, it sold with the house.

I was looking very hard at the 2400 Regency, but the look was just a little off for me. Proportions were weird to my eye.
Dave, I may just do that if they don't mind when I get back to check out the stoves.

I have a pretty healthy streak of skepticism running through my brainwaves.

Lewiston?!!! What a great place. We had 190 acres off Camp 8 road when I was kid. Best times of my life spent up there:)

Todd, it was approx. $3,000 OTD.
With these, you get the box, then add legs and door of choice, convection deck and blower(s). I did those, all plain Jane, no ash pan.
The place in Davison ( I think) quoted about $2,900....same options.
Both guys in the shop had their Carharrts on, and a little dirty, so I think they may have just done an install. Shoulda' asked.

I kind of figured that was where you were talking about Dave. If you ever get toward Gaylord, you might stop at the Sparr grocery. Not sure if they still do or not but they use to sell wood stoves back when I lived near there.

Not sure where that is Dennis.
With the Wallyworld and Meijer now there, any smaller stores may have gone bellyup.

Look on the map Dave. Sparr is NE of Gaylord but not that far off M-32.

That area has changed a lot over the past several years. I got stuck in a traffic jam in Gaylord on the Friday of Labor Day weekend last year. It took me about 30 minutes from the time I passed the Meijer gas station on M32 before I made the left onto northbound 75. That taught me to avoid Gaylord on a holiday weekend.

It surely has changed. Just does not look like it did when we lived there. I did not know Meijers had moved in either. Has that hurt Glens at all? Traffic jam? Wow!
