Middle America has made a rather large statement. (Not surprising to me. As the rumblings I have heard were approaching earthquake proportions) Let us hope that congress as a whole gets the message.( Wake up call- like a ported 084 at 0 dark thirty in the morning) The next 4 years will either be a functional government working together or a stalemate. If the later expect a large change in the make up of congress in 2 years. Lot of campaign promises - most pie in the sky, but made good rhetoric. Time will tell. Now the real problem comes on weather the electoral college will actually follow the popular vote. If it does not, I am unsure of what the ramifications will be both politically and with the populace. It will not be pretty though and likely take place outside the box. The territory is uncharted- as our designated hitter is not of the political fold in any manor. We are beyond what occurred with the Truman Dewey upset many years ago. There are a few similarities though.

I think to most important thing to focus on is how we make sure we're never ever in this situation again. Ever. Never ever. Ever.

The population has spoken again the establishment. As you say, I hope they received the message. I for one did not see this going down this way. Many believe this election was between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. This election was all about the establishment (Clinton) versus the outsider (Trump). The outsider won.

Now we'll see if the electoral college follows each states voting preferences. If ever there was a way to drag this country into another civil war, let the electoral college elect Hillary. That would be the final spark on an already unstable situation. That may appear to be far fetched, but the electoral college giving the election against the will of the people would test their resolve. I hope that people would make sure their message was fully understood.

The election of Trump is very similar to how Reagan entered office. Reagan was a far better orator that Trump could ever imagine to be. However; following Obama's teleprompter/stammering speech's, Trump might just come out looking more and more like Reagan. As Trump said in his acceptance speech, "So, it’s been what they call a historic event, but to be really historic, we have to do a great job. And I promise you that I will not let you down. We will do a great job. We will do a great job." He's spot on to say that for this election to truly be historic, he must deliver. Whether congress works with him remains to be seen. Hope for this countries sake, he's a good steward of this countries future.
