Adam, I think I love you buddy.......like a crazy brother-in-law that is a blast to hang out with! You do excellent work, don't think it goes unnoticed......
Now I am getting nervous, no one said I was getting compared to the Grizzly Firestarter. Just the name makes me sheepish! My thanks go out to you Grizzly and let me know if you need more samples in the future. One more thing, get rid of the paper, it is not needed. Thomas
Thomas-- I think you are right about the paper. I was a little worried about being able to get the torch in far enough because I have the super cedar pretty buried, but I ended up being able to get the torch right down onto it after all. Grizzly Fire Starters. I like that... Of course I am going to compare to what I usually use, you came out pretty favourably though. I do plan on taking at least one camping next this summer-- will make getting the first fire going a quick matter so we can get on with setting up the rest of the site. As you can imagine, I'm not the kind of person that travels too heavy with camping-- we make do with a lot of the resources nature has available for us and that takes time to set up.
What You Should Be Doing: January is finally in post production. This will be three segments long, the second segment has mostly been compiled and is awaiting a finalised script, voice over, and some tweeks. This should be done before the end of the night. Third segment has yet to be started, but should easily be completed after work tomorrow. There may be some additional shooting to tie the three segments together, but I am hoping to have this video to you by no later than Saturday night. Then I will move straight into production of What You Should Be Doing:February and hope to have that out by the end of next weekend. And then it will be onto March, which I hope to be able to release March 1 and finally get this project back on schedule.
My latest equipment arrived in the mail today. I got another graffiti clip, the kind that I can mount to my mic stands and use them as tripods. I also got two jelly fish clips, one for my iPhone and one for the droid 4. These are spring load tripod mounts for smart phone and the best thing about them is that I don't have to take the covers off of my phones any more. In case you're wondering, the droid 4 is just being used for the camera, which is better than the iPad and iPhone cameras I have mainly relied on. I just shot some cut scenes for the January video using the droid 4 clipped into a jelly fish connected to a graffiti clip attached to a boom mic stand. Directly below the droid 4 was my iPad, connected to a tripod mount case with a graffiti clip attached to the same mic stand. The iPad was being used as a TelePrompTer. Not that anyone wanted that much info.
Nice video Adam! And you didn't leave out the best part!!! BEER!! All joking aside. You have invested a lot of time into these videos and I would liketo say Thank you.
Oh and the Wife got me an early Valentine's Day present. A new Roku 3!! Comes with 2 HDMI cables (we didn't need those, but she didn't know any better.. Should be here this week.
