papadave started a thread ( Anyone from Michigan | Firewood Hoarders Club ) and I thought it would be good to continue it. Here is the next place you have to guess where it is..Kinda easy though. Good luck!
I think American side, looking from the gorge, on the left, and horseshoe, looking from Canadian side, on the right.
Winner! After taking a time out to watch Vanna spin some letters.. Hmm-the prize will be a hearty handshake, pat on the back and the warm glow of victory! Unless you think you could use a free course in dog obedience training? Probably not, huh? It seems to be that guys named Dave are pretty good at this game!!!
So far so good. This one is tough, I think. The first time I saw this was back in the 70's. It used to be displayed outside and has since been moved indoors. enough clues for now. Where can it be found?
Correct! That makes the score Dave 2 and Dave 1. Close game no? The first time I saw it it was chained up outside. A few decades later on another trip to the Grand Canyon I looked all over for it and finally asked a ranger about it. Seems they had to move it into the store as the summer employees (college) would prank a regular ranger by placing the meteorite in front of his door during the night time hours. Poor guy couldn't get out of his room the next morning!!!
OK, here is something that will be easy again. These are real and actual size. What tree do they come from?
First time I saw a tree I cam around a corner and there it was in a meadow by itself.....looked like hard salamis hanging off the branches! Jumped out and collected a bunch of 'em and found out later that you weren't supposed to do that. California.
OK. Its been over an hour. It is the Sugar Pine tree of California. Saw it on the way through Sierra National Forest home of the Giant Sequoias and the famous one, General Sherman. All did well this evening. Hope to keep this going again.
